Job summary

Mach Industries is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Sheet Metal & Tube Forming to lead the development and industrialization of our metal forming capabilities, including hydroforming, press brake forming, and tube bending.

You will own the manufacturing approach from feasibility through production ramp, collaborating with Design Engineering, Production, Tooling, Quality, and Supply Chain to establish new capabilities and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, tooling engineering, or related role with sheet metal or tube forming.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting hydroforming, press brake forming, or tube bending.
• Experience selecting or specifying manufacturing equipment and tooling for new processes.
• Strong understanding of metal formability, material condition, grain direction, work hardening, springback, bend allowances, and defects.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, and use CAD tools to develop tooling, fixtures, and concepts.
• Experience developing manufacturing process plans, estimating cycle times, and using production data to improve quality, throughput, or cost.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills to drive projects from concept through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Own metal forming process development across hydroforming, press brake forming, and tube bending for prototype and production.
• Define the manufacturing approach for each part family considering material, geometry, tolerances, and production volume.
• Specify and select production equipment; develop requirements for envelope, force, material capability, controls, tooling interfaces, and throughput.
• Develop end-to-end process plans including material prep, forming sequences, treatments, trimming, inspection, and handoff to welding or assembly.
• Design and qualify forming tooling and fixtures with internal and external tooling resources.
• Establish process parameters via hands-on trials and develop repeatable setups and windows.
• Own capacity planning and translate demand into equipment, staffing, and material flow.
• Lead equipment implementation, trials, acceptance testing, installation, and ramp demonstrations.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering on manufacturability to optimize formability and reduce post-processing.
• Establish inspection methods with Quality to prevent nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
• Standardize production execution with routings, setup sheets, work instructions, and training.
• Drive throughput, yield, and cost improvements.
