Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Superintendent to lead on commercial projects. This role directs sheet metal crews, collaborates with engineers and estimators, and ensures quality and safety across assignments.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep HVAC knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple job sites. The position requires extensive field experience, excellent communication, and a track record of coordinating with subcontractors and clients.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial experience in the field as Superintendent on sheet metal or HVAC operations or equivalent
• Extensive knowledge of Sheet Metal / HVAC systems installation
• Ability to supervise large crews (20+) as Sheet Metal Superintendent
• Knowledge of other mechanical trade disciplines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with man hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning and estimating
• Advanced understanding of construction cost control, forecasting and goal setting
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) across varied disciplines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to present information to customers, clients and colleagues
• Reading/interpretation of design drawings, design guides, specs, and contract documents
• Must multi-task with minimal supervision and follow instructions
• Must adhere to company policies and procedures
• Must be available to report to multiple job sites as assigned
• OSHA 30 and CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Supervises sheet metal Foreman, field crew, subcontractors and craft activities including method, manpower, materials, equipment, scheduling and documentation
• Coordinates work of different crafts and departments
• Identifies and documents potential change orders
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with project teams, customers, subcontractors and vendors
• Conduct weekly safety meetings
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions
• Perform material take-offs and order tools, materials and equipment to maximize productivity
• Ensure quality installation of sheet metal activities
• Manage production including manufacturing and pre-fabrication activities
• Monitor costs, schedules, procurement and quality/safety performance
• Maintain safe, healthy work environment complying with laws
• Perform duties as Sheet Metal Superintendent and liaison with engineering, estimating and project teams
• Coordinate with Quality Control and Engineering for materials, inspections and support craft activities
• Resolve productivity and safety issues and implement corrective actions
• Perform other duties as assigned
