Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional payroll tax experience, with 10+ years preferred.
• Extensive experience with multi-state payroll tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of federal payroll taxation (FICA, Medicare, FUTA) and employer-side obligations.
• Advanced Excel skills for large datasets, complex formulas, reconciliations, and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

• Own and oversee the payroll tax component of settlement distributions from final calculation through tax reporting and reconciliation.
• Review settlement agreements and data to determine federal, state, and local payroll tax treatment.
• Calculate employee withholdings and employer payroll tax liabilities for settlement payments.
• Prepare and review federal/state payroll tax filings (Forms 941, 940, W-2/W-3) and 1099s.
• Manage funding requirements and ensure settlement funds are appropriately funded before distributions.
