Job summary

Greenbrier Automotive Group in Lewisburg, WV seeks a General Service Technician- B Class to diagnose and repair vehicle components with minimal supervision. You will support apprentice technicians while ensuring high-quality work and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates bring strong diagnostic and repair capabilities, the ability to work independently, and knowledge of manufacturer standards, while maintaining safety and organization in a dealership service environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Technician or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across most vehicle systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work on repair orders efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose and repair most vehicle malfunctions.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain required parts.
• Save and tag parts under warranty or as requested by customers.
• Examine vehicles for additional safety or service needs and communicate findings to the service advisor.
• Notify service advisor if work outlined is unnecessary or cannot be completed within promised time.
• Document all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
• Road test vehicles when required or refer to test technician.
• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keep current on manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Supervise apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Ensure vehicles are kept clean and notify service advisor of any issues affecting appearance or condition.
• Maintain a neat and organized shop area.
• Maintain accountability for dealership-owned tools and manuals, returning them properly and in good condition.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know).
• Operate all tools and equipment safely and report any safety concerns immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
