Job Description

Feldkamp Mechanical, one of the leading mechanical contractors in Ohio, specializing in commercial and industrial piping, HVAC, and Refrigeration, is seeking a Senior Service Technician for our Cincinnati, Ohio office.

Summary:

Performs skilled, advanced journey-level duties in the inspection, installation, repair, and servicing of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related equipment.

Pay: $28 - $40 per hour

Schedule: 8-hour shift plus overtime, and available On Call (7-day rotations)

Responsibilities:

1. Install, operate, and maintain heating, air conditioning/refrigeration systems; conduct preventive maintenance and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
2. Inspect, repair, modify, and install HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including compressors, condensers, chillers, and related components.
3. Replace defective parts, including controls, thermostats, fans, filters, and compressors.
4. Test boiler operations, conduct water quality tests, and adjust burners.
5. Lubricate and pack motors, pumps, fans, and other equipment.
6. Install and repair piping, test joints, and insulate pipes.
7. Maintain and repair furnace gas controls, detect leaks, and replace thermocouples.
8. Operate hand and power tools, test equipment, and maintain safety standards.
9. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, repair or replace parts.
10. Install and repair fans, motors, thermostats, valves, and controls.
11. Manage work orders, prepare cost estimates, and supervise outside contractors.
12. Ensure compliance with building codes and safety procedures.
13. Work from sketches, plans, blueprints, and specifications.
14. Follow up with customers for quality assurance and complete billing paperwork.
15. Be on-call for emergencies.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of commercial plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration experience.
• HVAC and brazing license, HVAC Journeyman License (highly preferred), Universal Refrigerant License.
• Additional licenses in Hydronic and/or plumbing are a plus.
• Must be able to be on call in 7-day rotations.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to access all areas of construction sites.

Additional Skills:

• Basic knowledge of DDC systems, TCP/IP networking, and RS-485 communication.

Work Environment and Expectations:

• Office environment with normal lighting and climate control; noise level low to moderate.
• Work at job sites with exposure to weather, loud noise, and mechanical parts.
• Requires physical presence at the branch office and flexibility in working hours.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching, stooping, and bending.
