Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Sensor Validation Engineer to design and execute sensor characterization and vehicle-level validation campaigns for autonomous driving initiatives. You will bridge hardware performance with vehicle integration, conducting data collection on closed courses and public roads, and collaborating with perception and hardware teams.

Required expertise includes sensor physics, optics, and signal processing, plus hands-on lab work with benchtop and on-vehicle setups.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sensor validation experience across optical, lidar, or radar systems
• Experience with vehicle-level validation tests and on-vehicle data collection
• Strong knowledge of sensor physics, optics, electromagnetics and signal processing

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive sensor characterization plans for cameras, lidar, and radars
• Plan and execute vehicle validation tests on closed courses and public roads
• Evaluate SNR, dynamic range, distortion, and RCS accuracy
• Collaborate with perception and hardware teams to root cause anomalies
