Job summary

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Test Engineer to join the emerging-technology Sensor Fusion team. You will validate sensor-fusion capabilities, analyze requirements, and develop test cases for next-generation fighter.

You will work with embedded systems, MIL/HIL testing, and CI/CD pipelines, delivering clear test reports and traceability. Strong collaboration with software, hardware, and algorithm teams is essential to meet mission-critical performance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with embedded test rigs, real-time operating systems, and timing analysis tools.
• Ability to execute tests on flight-hardware platforms (ARM, FPGA).
• Proficiency with test-management tools (Jira, IBM DOORS) and maintaining traceability to system requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to present results to multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, or MATLAB for test scripts.
• Experience with test-automation frameworks (pytest, Robot Framework, Google Test).
• Use of Simulink/MATLAB for MIL and HIL testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop Test Strategies & Plans – create verification and validation test strategies for sensor-fusion software.
• Design & Execute Test Cases – write manual and automated test scripts exercising algorithms and data streams.
• Build Test Infrastructure – maintain automated test frameworks, test harnesses, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform Data Collection & Analysis – capture sensor data and analyze results for accuracy and latency.
• Coordinate Cross-disciplinary Reviews – work with algorithm, software, and hardware engineers to trace requirements.
• Document Findings – produce test reports, defect logs and traceability matrices.
• Support Continuous Improvement – contribute to test procedures and tooling enhancements.
