EXPECTED PAY RANGE: $126,757 - $174,291 annually

POSITION SUMMARY

Senior Software Engineers are responsible for the development and maintenance of software and systems for Hitachi High-Tech America, Inc. (HTA) products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Hands-on development, documentation, and testing of distributed applications
2. Researching and resolving complex software and system problems
3. Designing and simplifying user interfaces and documenting them
4. Creating architectures and complex designs independently and documenting them
5. Integrate and test software to confirm compliance with specifications
6. Developing functional specifications
7. Finding and fixing complex errors in any software
8. Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and test reviews
9. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, LICENSES, and/or CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE and TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in software development
2. Emphasis in building large, highly scaled, complex N-Tier/SOA web-based business applications with a focus on server-side technologies is a plus
3. Must have relevant experience with Core Java and multithreading
4. Professional, hands-on experience with designing and developing applications using Java, Web-Services, and various databases in a highly scaled web environment
5. Strong experience using Java with a deep understanding of object-oriented analysis and design (including design patterns)
6. Three (3) years’ experience in C++ is strongly preferred
7. Experience with open-source framework/libraries/concepts/tools such as JMS (Sun MQ), Cobertura, Ant, Maven, PostgreSQL, JBoss, and Selenium is required
8. Full software development lifecycle experience
9. Demonstrated experience and comfortability using Agile as well as iterative methodologies
10. Demonstrated experience with Test-driven development, using tools like Junit, Selenium, JMeter, and JProfile to spot performance issues and memory leaks
11. Experience with JCR systems (preferably JackRabbit) strongly preferred
12. This position requires up to 30% international and domestic travel
