Job summary

Honda is seeking a research engineer to advance semiconductor sensing across R&D programs, focusing on automotive technologies such as image, radar, lidar, inertial, and environmental sensors. You will translate device-level insights into system-level value and collaborate with leadership and partners to grow our semiconductor capability.

You will build internal expertise, align cross-functional teams, and drive agile projects, designing experiments to test hypotheses and deliver actionable

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related STEM field.
• At least 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Knowledge of semiconductor industry: chip architectures, IP/ISA, CPU/GPU/NPU, FPGAs, SoCs and heterogenous integration.
• Experience in digital/analog/mixed signal chip design is desirable.
• Familiarity with Assembly language.
• Experience in Verilog/SystemVerilog or similar HDL.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings to stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate and share technical findings with non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated capability in research and analytical problem solving with curiosity for continuous improvement.
• Ability to learn new applicable principles for design and manufacturing challenges.
• Working knowledge of Agile processes and methodologies.
• Design experiments to test hypotheses and prove them out.

Responsibilities

• Advance semiconductor sensing across R&D programs with automotive focus.
• Conduct technology sensing, assessment, benchmarking, and translate insights to system level value.
• Collaborate with technical leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
• Support CoE mission to grow organization's long-term semiconductor capability.
• Prepare sensing results for internal stakeholders to guide technical direction.
• Monitor emerging technologies and define value with speed using Agile methods.
