Job summary

EMD Electronics in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Equipment Technician to maintain and optimize semiconductor process equipment in a cleanroom. You will work with Equipment Engineers, Process Engineers, Operations, and external vendors to ensure uptime and process stability.

Candidates should have a degree in electronics/mechanical/industrial engineering or 5+ years in wafer fab maintenance; experience with ALD/PVD, vacuum, gas delivery, and CMMS (eMaint) preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent training.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with ALD, PVD, CVD, vacuum, or similar equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on semiconductor equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, vacuum, gas delivery, and control systems.
• Maintain and update CMMS records and maintenance logs.
• Assist with upgrades, installations, and reliability projects.
• Ensure safety and EHS compliance in a cleanroom environment.
• Support cross-functional teams and communicate shifts.
