About the role:

As a Senior Seismic Engineer, you will be responsible for civil/structural design activities, including evaluation of soil-structure-interaction effects and characterization of dynamic soil properties. You will address technical issues related to seismic analysis using analytical tools, justify design changes, and troubleshoot new issues.

You will report to the Manager of Concrete / Rebar Design and Seismic Analysis. This position is hybrid-based in Cranberry Woods, PA, in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. No relocation assistance is provided. We are considering candidates who can work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Civil/structural design activities such as evaluation of soil-structure-interaction effects and characterization of dynamic soil properties
• Address technical issues related to seismic analysis of building structures, including fabrication, assembly, and construction phases of civil/structural projects, technical justification of design changes, and troubleshooting emergent issues
• Provide on-site support at utilities and smaller projects
• Utilize analytical tools like ANSYS, LS-DYNA, GTSTRUDL, and SASSI
• Maintain software compliance records and assist in closure of engineering corrective actions
• Familiarize with applicable industry civil/structural codes such as ACI, AISC, ASCE, and AWS standards, as well as Westinghouse procedures
• Develop engineering sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD programs

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in civil or structural engineering
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• Nice-to-have qualifications (not required):
• PE, FE/EIT certifications
• Experience in the nuclear industry
• Experience with seismic analysis and soil-structure-interaction analysis
