Job summary

Oscar is seeking a Senior Information Security Tools Engineer to join a small, expert security engineering team in Reston. The role requires hands-on work building, integrating and automating security platforms, not just operating them.

You will own enterprise tooling and its supporting infrastructure, ensuring scalable, secure deployments across the organization. The environment spans SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint security, cloud security and security automation.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on security engineering experience.
• Experience deploying, administering, integrating or engineering enterprise security platforms.
• Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
• Experience building integrations using REST APIs or similar technologies.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Security infrastructure and network security fundamentals.
• Experience with Splunk, Tenable/Nessus, SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, cloud security or SOAR.
• A genuine engineering mindset and ability to dive under the hood of platforms.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy, configure and maintain enterprise security platforms and their infrastructure.
• Build integrations between security tools and other systems using Python, APIs and automation.
• Improve reliability, scalability, security and performance of security platforms.
• Administer and troubleshoot security applications across Linux and Windows environments.
• Develop scripts and automation to remove manual processes and boost efficiency.
• Support platform upgrades, migrations, integrations and new technologies.
• Collaborate across SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, cloud security and SOAR.
• Partner with security and infrastructure teams to design integrated solutions.
• Serve as a senior technical contributor and set engineering best practices.
