Job summary

Fastly, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Technical Account Manager to support enterprise customers across North America.

You will act as a trusted security advisor, defining tailored security strategies and coordinating with Product, Engineering, Support, and Security teams to drive secure deployments. You’ll guide customers through threat landscapes, lead workshops, and drive proactive security improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in customer-facing technical roles (TAM, Sales Engineering, Support, or Professional Services) with enterprise customers.
• Strong expertise in application and web security, including WAFs, bot mitigation, DDoS protection, OWASP Top 10, and API security.
• Solid understanding of internet fundamentals (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS, BGP) and modern architectures.
• Proven ability to shift from reactive support to proactive security guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal English; trusted advisor with customer empathy.
• Familiarity with scripting/automation (Python, Go) to improve workflows.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Experience with CDN, cloud security, containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and microservices is a plus.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud and IaC tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary security point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of enterprise customers.
• Build deep relationships with customer security, engineering, and leadership teams.
• Provide tailored security recommendations aligned to customer infrastructure and needs.
• Advocate for customer needs and feedback within Product, Engineering, Support, and Leadership.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex security issues and escalations.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and team efficiency.
• Design and deliver security workshops and enablement sessions.
• Contribute to internal security programs and special projects.
• Coach and mentor junior team members and support onboarding.
