Job summary

United Security Inc. is seeking a Senior Technician in Boston, MA to lead integrated security system design, field installation, and client-focused technical delivery.

You will coordinate with the Technology Solutions Manager, oversee subcontractors, and ensure end-to-end integration of access control, VMS/CCTV, and intrusion platforms. The role emphasizes design leadership, site assessments, and hands-on deployment, with a strong focus on compliance, documentation, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience designing integrated security systems.
• Ability to translate client requirements into buildable designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design for integrated security systems — device selection, system architecture, network topology (to the rack), head-end layout, and pathway planning.
• Validate design assumptions, labor estimates, and equipment lists during estimating and proposal development; support Sales & Marketing.
• Conduct site walks and security technology assessments as technical lead with client involvement.
• Ensure subcontracted scopes are identified and covered in quotes and scopes of work.
• Program, configure, and commission access control, VMS/CCTV, intercom, and intrusion platforms; validate end-to-end functionality.
• Own final testing, punch-list resolution, and client training; assist with closeout documentation.
• Maintain manufacturer certifications on core platforms; collaborate with cybersecurity partners.
• Coordinate execution with Technology Solutions Manager and SVP of Operations.
• Provide technical direction and quality oversight to in-house technicians and subcontractor crews.
