Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure Linux-based environments. You will automate system builds with Python and Ansible, harden RHEL 8, manage IdM/FreeIPA and PKI, and contribute to virtualization and networking across ESXi and KVM.

The role involves customer interaction, backlog shaping, and periodic travel for on-site deployments, with a Secret (and potential TS/SCI) clearance in a United States context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• U.S. Citizen with a minimum of a Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• 7+ years of systems engineering or related experience.
• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux systems, with solid experience on RHEL 8.
• Strong Python scripting and programming skills.
• Proficient with Bash/shell scripting.
• Strong experience with IdM or FreeIPA.
• Strong understanding of PKI concepts and practical implementation.
• Proficient with networking concepts.
• Basic-to-intermediate understanding of SELinux.
• Proficient with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Experience with virtualization platforms, including ESXi and KVM.
• Solid understanding of software design concepts, patterns, tools, and best practices.
• Basic understanding of virtualization and hypervisor configuration.

Responsibilities

• Refine and enhance existing applications to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation for rapid, repeatable system builds and configuration (Ansible, Python, shell).
• Develop and maintain user and administrative documentation to satisfy contract requirements.
• Periodically travel onsite to integrate operational systems, apply updates, and support deployments.
• Profile, analyze, and optimize legacy software and the supporting system stack.
• Configure, harden, and maintain RHEL 8 systems, including SELinux policies.
• Support and extend IdM/FreeIPA and PKI infrastructure.
• Contribute to virtualization environments (ESXi and KVM) and associated networking.
