We are looking for a Senior Security Systems Design Engineer (Engineer 3) to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. In this role, you will be involved in designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services such as intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audiovisual systems, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial clients across high-growth markets.

This position is a hybrid role based out of our San Jose, CA office, with occasional on-site support in the Bay Area and/or travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on security engineering needs and requirements regarding system performance, installation, and sustainment programs.
• Define project scope based on customer needs.
• Provide high-quality Issue for Construction (IFC) and Shop Drawing designs.
• Review RFP documentation, Statements of Work, and client specifications for new bids.
• Develop residential security Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Understand security construction requirements related to electrical, pathways, telecommunications/network, IT, and audiovisual systems.
• Develop test and commissioning plans to ensure system acceptance.
• Develop and improve design standards.
• Collaborate with installation, deployment, and project management teams to maintain standards.
• Provide deployment recommendations and high-level issue resolution guidance.
• Work with engineering teams on new technology developments or environmental changes requiring new solutions.
• Possess knowledge and/or certification with electronic security systems such as Software House CCure, Genetec, Lenel, Milestone, Avigilon, HID, Salto, Axis, Sightlogix, among others.

Qualifications

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related field from an accredited institution, with 5+ years of relevant experience in programs of similar scope and complexity.

• Strong communication, presentation, and written skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a plus.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.

Pay Range
