Treasury COSS (CS) – Washington, DC

Overview

Job Title: Senior Security Specialist – ISSO

Clearance Required: US Citizen; Public Trust

Work Location: Onsite at the Department of Treasury, 1500 Penn Ave, Washington, DC.

Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure compliance with Treasury, DHS, and NIST cybersecurity policies and frameworks.
  • Support the implementation and sustainment of security controls in alignment with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Assist system owners in maintaining Authorization to Operate (ATO) status.
  • Enhance Treasury’s ability to measure, report, and manage cybersecurity posture and control effectiveness at a maturity level consistent with OIG FISMA Metrics Level 4 (Managed and Measurable).
  • Strengthen collaboration and information sharing across internal Treasury offices and external partners to support cybersecurity risk reduction and resilience.
  • Create and maintain documents like SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, and other continuous monitoring reports/artifacts.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or commensurate experience and education).

Experience/Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as ISSO.
  • Highly responsive to customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting systems hosted in Cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting systems in Agile and DevOps environments.

Certifications (Must have one certification):

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
Salary and Benefits

The likely salary range for this position is $86,000 - $120,000. Final pay is determined by factors including experience, skills, certifications, education, and contract provisions.
