Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Senior Security Specialist to support the HN Enterprise at Hanscom AFB, MA. The role involves visitor control and program security administration to ensure proper access to buildings and secure facilities.

You will work under the Information Protection lead, perform entry control duties, screen visitors, manage badges, and assist with personnel and information security tasks while maintaining government standards and safeguarding sensitive information.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with security policy/manuals and the appropriate DoD and Air Force directives, manuals, and instructions.
• Familiarity with DISS (or successor system).
• Able to work in a dynamic environment and interact with DoD personnel and partners.
• Able to convey information clearly in written and verbal form.
• Willing to adapt to contingency schedules if required.
• Identify classified documents and ensure proper safeguarding.
• Complete required security training per DoD/AF regulations.

Responsibilities

• Check identification of all visitors and ensure sponsorship and clearance via DISS or local database.
• Determine visitor needs, log visitors, issue badges, and notify hosts of arrivals.
• Ensure visitors do not bring prohibited items (cell phones, smart watches, tablets, etc.).
• Inspect bags and hand-carried items as needed.
• Receive packages and distribute per SOPs.
• Verify personnel have authorized access badges.
• Perform emergency procedures for bomb threats, active shooter, and other incidents.
• Account for all logs, instructions, equipment and badges daily.
• Assist with personnel security, information security and entry control.

Salary Range: $85,000 - 95,000.00*

Job Status: Full-time; salaried

Clearance: Secret clearance required

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Security Specialist to support the HNI Enterprise, which is within the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) and located at Hanscom AFB, MA

Required Qualifications / Skills

• Familiarity with security policy/manuals and the appropriate DoD and Air Force directives, manuals, and instructions
• Familiarity with DISS (or successor system)
• Able to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners
• Able to accurately convey information both in written and verbal format.
• Other requirements may include but are not limited to:
• Must be willing to adapt to contingency schedule if required by unit in unusual cases of
  emergency or critical mission support need
• Must be able to identify classified documents/information and know proper safeguarding
• Must complete all required security training in accordance with DoD and Air Forceregulations for those filling the role of security assistant

Responsibilities

The position provides visitor control and program security administration to include personnel and information security functions as needed to ensure visitors are greeted professionally and receive assistance as necessary for access to HN Directorate buildings and/or secure facilities. The position is responsible to the Information Protection (IP) lead for entry and circulation control and other administrative duties.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Check identification of all visitors and ensure all are sponsored and properly cleared via DISS, successor system, or a local database
• Determine visitor’s need to enter the building, log visitors in, issue visitor badges and notify hosts of visitor arrivals
• Ensure visitors are not introducing any prohibited items (cell phones, smart watches, tablets, etc.)
• Perform and/or assist government employees with inspecting bags and hand-carried items
• Receive packages from outside agencies (UPS, Fed Ex, etc.) and distribute in accordance with facility standard operating procedures
• Check assigned personnel and ensured they have and are displaying authorized access badges
• Perform emergency procedures for bomb threat, active shooter, force protection, anti-terrorism, fire evacuation and other emergency situations in accordance with emergency procedures checklists
• Account for all logs, instructions, equipment and badges at the beginning and end of each scheduled workday
• Assist with personnel security, information security and entry control functions.
