Job summary

EVgo is seeking a Software Engineer III with a security focus to lead key components of our charging platform. You will shape the technical roadmap, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Data, and Design to align security with business goals.

You will design and implement security controls for public-facing services, API protection, and the software supply chain, while growing a high-performance, blameless engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master’s; or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS or related field; equivalent experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Drive security design and best practices across cloud, platform, and client implementations.
• Craft, deploy, and expand critical engineering components to align with EVgo's goals.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to balance trade-offs and deliver secure solutions.
• Work within cross-functional teams to deliver complete software solutions.
• Provide technical guidance on availability, scalability, and cost efficiency; mentor engineers.
