Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Senior Security Software Engineer to lead Security Operations by evolving platforms that govern cloud infrastructure, automate compliance, and integrate security reviews into engineering workflows.

You will translate complex requirements into scalable controls across AWS, Terraform and CI/CD processes, balancing hands-on work with architectural ownership and cross‑functional influence.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building and operating complex production security systems.
• Strong AWS security architecture and Terraform experience.
• Experience in cloud governance, vulnerability management or related areas.
• Ownership of complex technical initiatives and cross-team impact.
• Strong software engineering judgment across design, reliability and security.
• Ability to influence decisions and mentor others in AI usage.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction of Security Operations systems.
• Design and build production services and policy-as-code for cloud resources and software delivery workflows.
• Develop guardrails for identity, access, configuration, cloud changes and CI/CD security.
• Improve vulnerability identification and remediation with automation and triage.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives from design to adoption and maturity.
• Set engineering standards and guidance to improve security systems and AI responsible use.
