Security Engineers at GuidePoint Security are experienced professionals who are autonomous, self-driven security enthusiasts. Our Security Engineers are involved in the complete security technologies lifecycle, from pre-sales through delivery, with the freedom to scope and deliver engagements.

As both a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) and a professional services organization, our Security Engineers continually expand their knowledge with the latest security technologies to better serve our clients. This position is remote/virtual; however, candidates must reside locally within the Greater Chicago or Milwaukee areas and/or be willing to travel up to 75% within our North Central territory.

Position Requirements:
  • Must be located in Minneapolis, MN, and open to local/regional travel for client/vendor events.
  • Minimum 5 years in an enterprise security role involving architecture, assessment, or operations.
  • Proficiency in security technologies such as network security, NGFW, cloud security, Data Security, Vulnerability & Risk Management, Proxy, EDR, IAM, SIEM & Analytics.
  • Strong communication skills to understand client issues and articulate solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to research emerging vendors and technologies to address client challenges.
  • Experience in creating technical and business collateral for diverse audiences.
  • Work primarily remotely, with travel within the Minneapolis metro area.
  • Role expected to be 70% presales and 30% delivery.
Technical Requirements:
  • Deep expertise in multiple security technologies and enterprise security solution design.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in networking and security.
  • Proficiency in various operating systems (Windows, Nix, OSX, etc.).
  • Knowledge of advanced security concepts such as Zero Trust and defense in depth.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with technologies like Symantec DLP, ForeScout, Palo Alto, Check Point, CrowdStrike, Splunk, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Over 5 years of security engineering or leadership experience.
  • Pre-sales experience is highly preferred.
