Job summary

Brex is seeking a Security Operations Engineer in our Seattle hybrid office. You will prevent, detect, and respond to security threats across Brex’s corporate and cloud environments and develop tools to improve security capabilities.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting and contribute to open-source efforts like Substation while mentoring others. The role requires Go and Python coding experience, familiarity with CI/CD and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field OR equivalent training / fellowship OR 5+ years work experience
• Experience working in a corporate security, detection & response or infrastructure security role with responsibilities for security alert triage and security incident response
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and DevOps workflows (Buildkite, Flux, Git, Terraform) in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with deploying and maintaining security services and tools (SIEM, data pipelines, SOAR, domain monitoring, endpoint tooling, email protection tooling, cloud security tools)
• Coding experience with Go and Python is required
• Collaborative, diverse team environment with 30 nationalities represented

Responsibilities

• Prevent, detect and respond to security threats across Brex's corporate and cloud environments
• Perform security incident response, investigation, remediation, and documentation; participate in threat hunting and exercises
• Lead, scoping and building features; design and maintain tools and systems supporting corporate security, detection & response and infrastructure security
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to remediate security issues within SLA and team backlogs
• Emphasize secure system design and MVP mindset while working with diverse teams
