Job summary

Brex, based in San Francisco, is hiring a Security Operations Engineer to safeguard Brex’s corporate and cloud environments. You will prevent, detect, and respond to security threats, and develop tooling to enhance security capabilities.

You will collaborate with Application Security, Corporate Engineering, GRC and IT to improve configurations, drive secure design, and mentor others while contributing to open source projects and the Brex Tech Blog.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of security incident response experience.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Proficiency with Go and Python; ability to build security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Work on a cross-functional team to prevent, detect and respond to security threats across Brex's corporate and cloud environments.
• Perform security incident response, investigation, remediation, and documentation; participate in threat hunting.
• Lead scoping and building features; design and maintain tools and systems supporting corporate security, detection & response, and infrastructure security.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to remediate security issues while balancing SLA priorities.
• Contribute to open source projects (Substation) and Brex Tech Blog; mentor and promote security excellence.
