Job summary

The Alibaba Cloud Security team in Sunnyvale seeks a data security specialist to safeguard cloud operations and customer data. You will own data compliance programs, cross-border transfers, and incident handling across our production and office environments.

You will analyze risk for accounts, transactions and campaigns, build data-driven risk governance, and collaborate with product and engineering to implement intelligent risk-control solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Information Security, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience, with data security, account security, anti-cheating, or anti-fraud preferred.
• Hands-on experience implementing data security within an enterprise; able to analyze problems, identify risks, and propose solutions.
• Experience with risk-control strategy and data analysis is valued.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Alibaba Cloud's data compliance operations, including cross-border data transfer and privacy data compliance; handle third-party data compliance certifications and audits, and provide data compliance consulting to customers.
• Responsible for data security policy management, risk operations, early-warning operations, emergency response, and incident handling across Alibaba Cloud's production and office environments.
• Be sensitive to risk: conduct risk analysis and assessment around scenarios such as accounts, transactions, and marketing campaigns; use data analytics to map out clue relationships and pinpoint business pain points; and build a risk governance strategy system for on-cloud business security.
• Leverage techniques such as feature engineering, machine learning, and natural language processing to produce risk-control strategies, models, and intelligent agents, and continuously optimize their effectiveness; distill methodologies, refine product requirements, and work with product and engineering teams to drive the implementation and upgrade of an intelligent risk-control system.

• Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in Information Security, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field; 3+ years of relevant working experience, with prior experience in data security, account security, anti-cheating, or anti-fraud preferred.
• Familiar with enterprise-internal data security and compliance workflows, with hands-on experience implementing data security within an enterprise; able to independently analyze problems, identify risks, and propose solutions.
• Command of the fundamentals of intelligent systems, with solid experience in risk-control strategy and strong data analysis and mining capabilities; experience in modeling and large-model tuning is a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience collaborating with internal teams such as business, legal, procurement, and HR, as well as experience in cross-cultural collaboration.
• Clear logical thinking, strong project management and cross-department coordination skills, and the ability to drive complex projects through to implementation.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $145,200 and $238,800/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
