Job summary

Walden Robotics in Cambridge, MA seeks a senior security engineer to own the security of our robots and the surrounding systems, setting strategy and building the security program in partnership with IT and internal security teams. The role covers secure robot platforms, teleoperation, fleet security, and cloud services with a focus on data protection, key management, and secure software stacks.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in information/product security and production systems.
• Ability to build or shape a security program as a senior IC.
• Experience securing cloud infrastructure and services (AWS preferred).
• Experience implementing technical controls behind SOC 2 and other frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own the security architecture of the robot platform, including secure boot, updates, on-robot data protection, and key management.
• Secure the teleoperation link and fleet infrastructure end-to-end with strong authentication, encryption, and integrity controls.
• Drive security across cloud services and applications—IAM, secrets management, secure APIs, and data protection.
• Build and evolve the security program, including threat modeling, security reviews, vulnerability management, and secure development practices.
• Lead technical aspects of SOC 2 compliance in partnership with IT and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT, internal security, and engineering to embed security across the organization.
• Provide security guidance and reviews to engineers to raise the security bar by design.
