Job summary

Mariner is seeking a senior Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering & Architecture team. You will partner with product, data, and technology teams to translate business goals into practical, scalable security architectures that enable new capabilities safely.

You will secure Mariner’s SaaS platforms, APIs, data flows and AI-enabled workflows by designing pragmatic controls, reusable patterns and guardrails, and you will collaborate across business units to reduce risk while shipping

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in security architecture, cloud/SaaS security, solutions architecture, software engineering, or SRE/DevOps with at least 5 years in a dedicated security role.
• Proven track record securing distributed business systems with SaaS, APIs, identity, and third-party services.

Responsibilities

• Assess end-to-end architectures spanning SaaS platforms, APIs, data services, and AI; identify trust boundaries and data flows.
• Facilitate architecture and threat reviews with delivery teams; document decisions and residual risk.
• Own and maintain a library of secure-by-design patterns for SaaS adoption, APIs, data movement, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Translate security requirements into practical designs that enable business outcomes while reducing late-stage reviews.
• Partner with product, enterprise architecture, data, and technology teams at a senior level to embed security early in roadmaps and design.
• Collaborate with Security Platform Engineering to turn requirements into automated guardrails and self-service workflows.
