Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced IT security professional to safeguard information across systems and processes. The role reports to security leadership and collaborates with risk assessment staff, auditors, and facilities teams.

You will mentor staff, define security controls, and implement plans for data protection, access management and incident response. Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Industry certifications CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS GIAC, or similar.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in Information Security.
• 6+ years in IT with broad exposure to planning, security solutions and development.
• Familiarity with security standards: NIST, COBIT, ISO 27001, ITIL.
• Experience in data administration and security methods; knowledge of RDBMS.
• Multi‑platform environment familiarity and security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Identify securable resources and mentor business staff on ownership.
• Determine appropriate security policies with resource owners.
• Evaluate and configure hardware/software for security functions.
• Lead audits and respond to audit findings with IT staff and management.
• Review operation logs to identify security events and causes.
