Base pay range

$70.00/yr - $85.00/yr

The rate is $70 to $85 per hour

Seeking a highly skilled senior security engineer with deep experience across systems security, cloud security, and automation. This individual will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure infrastructure and cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on automation and process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise systems security, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and industry best practices
• Configure and maintain Active Directory baselines, including policy enforcement, identity/access management, and domain security hardening
• Develop and maintain security frameworks in AWS, including both infrastructure- and code-level security (IaC, IAM policies, VPC, encryption, logging, etc.)
• Monitor and improve data and web application security, integrating secure development and deployment practices
• Build and maintain scalable automation scripts using Python to support security operations, vulnerability scanning, and compliance reporting
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate security throughout the CI/CD pipeline
• Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and threat modeling
• Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem documentation for security-related events
• Contribute to security governance and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• 10–15 years of hands-on experience in IT security engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure and cloud security
• Advanced knowledge of Active Directory architecture, security policies, and domain-level configurations
• Strong expertise in AWS security controls, networking, identity and access management, and cloud governance
• Experience securing web applications and protecting sensitive data in regulated environments
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, security tooling, and data processing
• Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) and DevSecOps principles
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, CEH, SANS GIAC) a plus

Preferred:

• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare)
• Knowledge of container security (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC tools
