Job summary

The Puyallup Tribe IT Department is seeking a Security Engineer to provide expert guidance on enterprise IT security solutions, protecting mission-critical applications and leading incident response.

With eight or more years in IT security across multiple disciplines, you will mentor staff, schedule tests, and manage firewall and threat/vulnerability activities. This is a full-time on-site role in Tacoma, WA, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least eight years of IT experience in an enterprise environment.
• Experience across security, network engineering, applications, database, risk and project management.
• Experience with vulnerability management, penetration testing, firewall management, IDS/IPS, or digital forensics.

Responsibilities

• Analyze risk, determine responses, and guide system owners to clean infected systems.
• Mentor IT staff in Threat and Vulnerability Management.
• Schedule penetration tests and perform regular vulnerability assessments.
• Provide security consulting to IT staff, leadership and vendors.
• Act as firewall administrator and resolve firewall-related issues.
• Research, monitor, and resolve data and voice network security problems.
• Stay current on new security threats and measures; support IT staff as needed.
