Job summary

NVR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Information Security team on-site in Reston, VA. You will design, implement, operate, and improve enterprise security tools and services to protect company data and users.

This hands-on role leads complex initiatives, supports incident response, mentors teammates, and partners across IT to strengthen security across the enterprise. You will work across security platforms, review telemetry, and ensure tools are patched and compliant.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of strong experience designing, implementing, administering, and improving enterprise information security tools and services.
• Experience in incident response, forensic activities, root-cause analysis, and remediation.
• Knowledge of security policies, standards, baselines, control requirements, and audit/compliance processes.
• Ability to evaluate security risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Experience in cross-functional technical projects.
• Strong documentation skills to develop procedures, standards, runbooks, design reviews, and technical recommendations.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while collaborating with stakeholders.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced security engineering activities across enterprise security platforms and services.
• Support design, implementation, configuration, documentation, and operation of security tools (anti-malware, disk encryption, vulnerability management, cloud security, Microsoft 365, log management, secure email gateways, network security).
• Ensure security tools operate with current patches and baselines.
• Review logs, reports, alerts, and telemetry to identify incidents and improvements.
• Follow change management processes and participate in change control for security systems.
• Support incident response activities from detection to post-incident improvement.
• Assist with audit, compliance, verification, and documentation of security controls and runbooks.
• Collaborate with project teams to provide security requirements and secure SDLC delivery.
• Research emerging threats and present recommendations to management.
• Contribute to medium to large-scale security projects or cross-functional initiatives.
• Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to peers.
