About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Corporate Security team. Your mission will be to mitigate organizational risks by securing tools and platforms used daily by Rippling employees, including SaaS applications, internal tools, endpoints, and email. You will work closely with multiple teams to enhance security measures through automation and strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead security projects securing enterprise systems like Google Workspace, Atlassian, Salesforce, and Slack.
  • Design and implement scalable access controls and audit workflows.
  • Deploy and optimize security tools such as email security platforms, CASB/SWG, and SaaS DLP solutions.
  • Automate security workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Create documentation and proposals to communicate risks and solutions with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Detection & Response teams on phishing protection and incident investigations.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to technical strategy through reviews and collaboration.

Sample Projects

  • Implementing new email security solutions and defining phishing detection strategies.
  • Building approval systems for Chrome extensions using Google’s API.
  • Automating Slack-based remediation for shared sensitive documents.
  • Restricting third-party app access in Google Workspace and managing exceptions.
  • Threat modeling Salesforce and enhancing visibility into high-risk data access.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in security or software engineering, with SaaS, IT, or access management experience.
  • Proficiency in programming (Python, Go) and automation development.
  • Experience with identity/access management, SaaS security tools, DLP, insider threats, or phishing protection.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with non-engineering stakeholders.
  • Ability to scope ambiguous problems, define success metrics, and drive projects to completion.
  • Ownership of projects and proactive management of blockers.

  • Delivering projects that promote safe behaviors, operational efficiency, and improved risk visibility.

This role offers a competitive salary, benefits, and equity. Salary ranges vary by location, with the following US-based ranges:

  • USD 159,000 - 278,250 (US Tier 1)
  • USD 143,100 - 250,425 (US Tier 2)
  • USD 135,150 - 236,513 (US Tier 3)
