Job summary

Rezilient Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to hands-on protect cloud, data, and infrastructure across our CloudClinic platform. You will implement security controls across AWS, IAM, encryption, logging, and deployment pipelines, and partner with Engineering, IT, and Compliance to mature SOC 2, HIPAA/HITECH, and HITRUST programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, cybersecurity, IT, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in information security or security engineering.
• Hands-on AWS security experience (IAM, networking, encryption, logging).
• Strong application security background (threat modeling, secure code review).
• Experience with IAM, endpoint security, and security monitoring/SIEM.
• Experience leading incident response and vulnerability programs.
• Knowledge of SOC 2, HIPAA/HITECH, HITRUST, ISO/NIST, with audit evidence.
• Proficient in scripting (Python/Go/Bash) and Terraform IaC.
• Excellent communication; able to operate as senior IC in startup.
• Experience protecting PHI or regulated data preferred.
• CISSP/CCSP/OSCP/GIAC certs a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud infrastructure.
• Build guardrails using infrastructure as code and cloud-native tools.
• Assess cloud environments for misconfigurations and exposure risks.
• Protect PHI and PII at rest and in transit with data controls.
• Embed security into SDLC with Product and Eng teams.
• Lead threat modeling and security design reviews for new features.
• Own application security tooling and processes (SAST/DAST, container scanning).
• Establish secure development standards and coach engineers.
• Assess security of third-party integrations and APIs.
• Partner on identity management, access controls, and endpoint security.
• Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents; run tabletop exercises.
• Own vulnerability management and coordinate penetration tests.
• Contribute to governance, policies, and audit readiness.
• Mentor team members and shape security roadmap.
