Genworth (CareScout) is seeking a Principal Security Engineer in Virginia on a hybrid schedule. In-office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with core hours 9am–5pm EST, and in-office Virginia residents in Richmond.

The role leads complex security engineering initiatives across the enterprise and delivers scalable, high-impact security solutions. You will partner with cross-functional teams, mentor colleagues, and drive advances in detection, response, and secure adoption of modern

Qualifications

• Requires significant progressive experience in cybersecurity or security engineering, typically 12+ years.
• Broad knowledge across multiple cybersecurity domains: application, infrastructure, cloud, vulnerability management, detection/response.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise security solutions, beyond advisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact cybersecurity engineering initiatives across multiple domains.
• Troubleshoot escalated technical issues with root-cause analysis and sustainable remediation.
• Influence design and integration of security capabilities across enterprise
• Provide guidance to address emerging challenges from concept to implementation.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, operations, risk, and business teams to align priorities.
