Job Description

AbbVie is seeking a talented Senior Security Engineer to join our application security program. This role will focus on designing, building, and automating new components of our application security efforts. You will leverage your expertise in application development, secure software development, scripting, and data analytics to collect, normalize, and analyze intelligence artifacts automatically, as well as generate assessment products to support various intelligence requirements.

The role aims to grow our application security capabilities by building new features, integrating with existing and new DevSecOps tools, and collaborating with stakeholders across security and technology teams.

This position can be based anywhere in the U.S. remotely.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in modern DevOps environments and the following:

• Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of experience, or Master's Degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 2+ years in Information Security
• Experience building and deploying applications in a production-like environment
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages
• Knowledge of software composition analysis and software bill of materials
• Experience with cloud platforms and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Understanding of container and platform technologies
• Experience in cybersecurity or DevSecOps is beneficial, along with a strong interest in cybersecurity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience communicating at various organizational levels
