Our client is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to play a key role in strengthening and modernizing enterprise security capabilities across a complex technology environment. This individual will help design, implement, and support identity and access management solutions while partnering with technology and business teams to reduce risk, improve security controls, and enable secure business operations.
This is a highly visible position working with a team of experienced security professionals focused on strategic security initiatives, cloud security, identity management, and security engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Identity & Access Management
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls across Microsoft and AWS cloud environments, with a strong focus on Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Develop and manage access control policies, authentication services, and identity governance solutions.
- Design, engineer, and deploy identity integrations utilizing SAML, OIDC, and other modern authentication protocols.
- Implement and support Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and certificate-based security solutions.
- Advance workforce, privileged, and machine identity security capabilities.
Security Engineering & Operations
- Evaluate business requirements and security risks to recommend and implement effective technical solutions.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for issues related to identity security controls and technologies.
- Partner with IT teams to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security posture.
- Participate in incident response, problem management, and operational security activities.
- Provide occasional off-hours support for critical incidents and major technology implementations.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application development, cloud, networking, and business teams to deliver secure technology solutions.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, procedures, architectures, and technical documentation.
- Mentor junior security engineers and operations personnel.
- Contribute to strategic security initiatives and technology modernization efforts.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 6-8+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or related technology disciplines.
- 3+ years of hands‑on Identity and Access Management (IAM) experience, including implementation of SSO and Privileged Access Management solutions.
- Strong experience with Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server environments.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles and controls.
- Experience with security assessments, security operations, and security engineering.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team‑based environment.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality, business‑focused security solutions.
Preferred
- Security certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, Microsoft security certifications, or similar credentials.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and AWS security services.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Experience implementing identity federation technologies including SAML and OIDC.
