Job summary

Uni Systems is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the UniQue Security Engineering Services team. The role centers on Microsoft Azure security in hybrid cloud environments, leading architecture, deployment and guidance across SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, DLP, encryption and network security.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Security Engineering, strong Azure hands-on skills, and excellent communication. Travel abroad (EU) up to 5% of time is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in Security Engineering with senior-level ownership of architecture/design.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure architecture and security, including identity, networking, governance, monitoring and security controls.
• Experience with enterprise security technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, DLP, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management and encryption.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement and operate secure solutions with focus on Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Act as senior technical advisor to clients for cloud and cybersecurity architecture and implementation choices.
• Assess client requirements and translate needs into target architectures and security solutions.
• Lead deployment and integration of security controls in client environments (SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, DLP).
• Create technical documentation including architecture diagrams and guides.
• Provide effort estimates and technical input for proposals and cybersecurity projects.
• Mentor clients and internal teams through knowledge transfer.

This is a senior, architect-level role with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and cloud security. The ideal candidate will combine deep Azure architecture and security expertise with hands-on experience across enterprise security technologies, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, DLP, encryption and network security, as well as solid Linux knowledge.

For the Senior Security Engineer position, we expect you to demonstrate expertise in the following areas:

• Security Architecture, Design & Implementation: Architect, design, implement and operate secure solutions, with particular focus on Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Technical Consultation: Act as a senior technical advisor to clients, providing guidance on cloud and cybersecurity architecture, technologies and implementation choices.
• Requirement Analysis: Assess client requirements and existing infrastructure, identify security gaps and translate business and technical needs into practical target architectures and solutions.
• Implementation and Deployment: Lead the deployment and integration of security solutions such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, DLP and related security controls in client environments.
• Technical Documentation: Create clear technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides and standard operating procedures.
• Project Effort Estimation and Presales Activities: Provide effort estimates and technical input for proposals and prospective cybersecurity projects.
• Training and Knowledge Transfer: Support clients and internal teams through technical guidance, mentoring and knowledge transfer.

• University/College degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or other relative discipline
• A Master’s Degree in Information Security, Cyber Security, or similar area will be considered an asset
• 5+ years of proven experience in Security Engineering, including demonstrated senior-level ownership of solution architecture and design
• Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture and security, including identity, networking, governance, monitoring and security controls
• Hands-on experience with enterprise security technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM, DLP, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management and encryption
• Good working knowledge of Linux environments and core network/web protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S); container security knowledge will be considered an asset
• Relevant Information Security and Microsoft Azure certifications will be considered a plus (e.g., CISSP, Azure architecture/security certifications)
• Problem solving skills, analytical thinking
• Strong communication skills, allowing for effective collaboration and the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Stay updated on the latest developments in cybersecurity
• Excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal
• Flexibility to travel abroad (mainly EU countries, 5% of the working time)
