**Senior Security Engineer** **Job Summary**The Sr. Security Engineer designs, implements, and supports enterprise security capabilities across a range of domains, including, but not limited to, vulnerability management, cloud security, identity, endpoint, security architecture and application security, to protect the organization’s systems, data, users, and business operations. Reporting to the Director of Technical Security, this senior engineer leads security engineering initiatives end to end and partners closely with infrastructure, application, network, cloud, and security teams to deliver secure, scalable, and sustainable solutions. The role applies strong engineering judgment and hands-on technical depth to turn evolving threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends into practical improvements to controls, architecture, processes, and operational maturity. The role champions automation and the practical use of agentic AI tooling to build, streamline, and manage security engineering workflows, reducing manual effort and increasing the speed and consistency of delivery. The role also owns the standards for security documentation, metrics, and reporting quality, setting the expectations others follow so leadership has consistent visibility into security posture. As a senior member of the team, the Sr. Security Engineer mentors and develops other engineers and analysts by sharing technical expertise, guiding design and troubleshooting approaches, and raising the overall engineering capability of the Technical Security function.**Responsibilities*** Architect, build, implement, and support technical security engineering projects from requirements gathering through operational handoff and ongoing support* Partner across infrastructure, application, network, cloud, and security teams to design and deliver secure, scalable technical solutions that align with enterprise architecture and risk priorities* Evaluate emerging security trends, threats, vulnerabilities, and technology risks; translate relevant developments into practical recommendations for improving security capabilities and reducing enterprise risk* Own security documentation, reporting standards, metrics definitions, and governance expectations to ensure consistent, accurate, and actionable communication of security posture* Serve as the technical subject matter expert for vulnerability management, cloud security, identity, endpoint, and security architecture, providing design reviews, security requirements, and implementation guidance for initiatives led by other teams* Serve as the escalation point for complex security platform and integration issues, leading root-cause analysis and driving lasting fixes that prevent recurrence* Drive automation and process improvement, including applying agentic AI tooling to build and manage security engineering workflows, to reduce manual effort, improve visibility, strengthen control effectiveness, and mature security operations* Mentor peers, influence technical standards, and contribute to the strategic direction of the Technical Security function through senior-level engineering judgment and subject matter expertise **Experience*** Progressive experience in information security, security engineering, infrastructure, cloud, network, systems administration, application security, or related technical roles, including hands-on ownership of technical security initiatives and cross-functional delivery. Examples of prior roles include Security Engineer, Systems or Network Engineer, Cloud Engineer, and Application Security Engineer.* Hands-on experience with Zscaler, Microsoft security tools (such as Perview, Defender, Cloud App Security, etc...), Tenable, Wiz.* Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain scripts, workflows, and automation solutions that optimize security processes, improve scalability, and support operational excellence.* Hands-on experience applying agentic AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot) in real-world implementations, including building, automating, and managing security engineering workflows, is a significant plus. **Education*** Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
