Job summary

Trail of Bits, Inc. is seeking a Developer Relations Engineer to amplify public work and deepen ties with security practitioners and the open-source community worldwide. You’ll shape what gets published, explain the work's value, and extend its reach beyond internal teams.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, GTM, and marketing to publish impactful content, run community events, and support tools and documentation that help practitioners adopt our research in real-world settings.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on security experience, typically seven or more years.
• A public body of work including talks, posts, upstream contributions, research, and documentation.
• AI tooling experience with agentic capabilities and practical applications.
• Clear ability to write and present to skeptical engineers and practitioners.
• Strong understanding of community dynamics and credible engagement with open-source ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Grow the relationships we already have across the security community and start new ones.
• Own our baseline event presence at conferences and meetups.
• Support open-source projects and maintainers; facilitate office hours and upstream contributions.
• Turn research and releases into practitioner staples with marketing and engineering collaboration.
• Publish under your name; write deep dives, tutorials, and technical write-ups for scrutiny by engineers.
• Accelerate conference and CFP motion; help engineers submit and deliver talks.
• Work with teams to ensure tooling and plugins are adopted; contribute to onboarding and documentation.
