Job summary

Everforth ECS Federal is seeking a Senior Security Controls Assessor to support the assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring of federal information systems in accordance with NIST RMF, IRS 1075, and related requirements. This full-time role is remote, with a preference for candidates near the National Capital Region.

You will review artifacts, develop implementation guidance, present findings to stakeholders, update security policies, and help mature the agency's security program.

Qualifications

• Active Public Trust clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity/IT/CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on security control assessment in federal environments.
• Deep knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, RMF, IRS Publication 1075, FedRAMP, OMB and DHS standards.
• Proven ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support review, assessment, and maintenance of SA&A artifacts including SSPs, SAPs and SARs.
• Analyze inventories, network diagrams, data flows, vulnerability scans and test reports for control effectiveness.
• Develop and deliver implementation guidance for compliance with NIST 800-53 and IRS 1075.
• Present findings and remediation recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Review and update security policies, standards, and procedures to align with regulations.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews to document procedures and validate control implementations.
• Research evolving threats to inform updates to security policies and program improvements.
• Act as a liaison between client personnel and assessment teams to resolve issues.
