Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Security Compliance Specialist to guide cloud infrastructure compliance across our global platforms.

You will partner with architects, lead audit readiness, and implement scalable control improvements. You will translate regulatory standards into actionable guidance for engineering teams, evaluate architectures against benchmarks, and drive cross-functional remediation and automation in compliance workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or NIST frameworks
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, identity management, network security, and vulnerability management
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and cross-functional communication skills
• Familiarity with compliance automation tools and GRC platforms
• Experience coordinating multi-organization audit evidence collection and leading external assessment engagements

Responsibilities

• Leading compliance assessments and readiness activities across cloud computing platforms and delivery services
• Translating complex regulatory standards into actionable guidance for technical architecture and engineering teams
• Evaluating architectures, control designs, and operational effectiveness against industry benchmarks
• Conducting risk assessments and directing cross-functional remediation efforts
• Developing security compliance playbooks, implementation documentation, and automated monitoring workflows
• Mentoring team members and representing the organization during external certification assessments and audits
