Job summary

BBVA Securities Inc. in New York seeks an experienced Security Architect to lead security across a portfolio of complex technology initiatives.

This hands‑on leadership role combines security architecture, application security, and project governance, partnering with engineering and business teams from design through production. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in security risk assessments and regulatory compliance and can manage multiple initiatives concurrently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information security fields.
• 10+ years in information security, security architecture, or related areas.
• Experience leading security reviews across applications, cloud services, and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with financial services security requirements and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform security architecture reviews and threat modeling for applications, APIs, cloud services, infrastructure and third‑party solutions.
• Evaluate architecture patterns covering authentication, IAM, encryption, secrets management, APIs, network segmentation, data protection and secure integration patterns.
• Validate that approved architecture and security controls are implemented as designed before production deployment.
• Own security workstreams for multiple concurrent initiatives, prioritizing deliverables and milestones.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to provide security guidance and ensure governance across projects.
