Job Title: Senior Security Analyst – Incident Response
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 6+ months potential for extension
Rate Range: $34-35/hr on W2
In this role, you will:
- Investigate, contain, and recover from security incidents across enterprise and cloud environments
- Perform forensic analysis, log correlation, and malware triage to determine root cause and impact
- Contribute to the development and refinement of incident response playbooks and escalation protocols
- Collaborate with Threat Intelligence teams to contextualize attacks and track threat actor behaviors
- Support incident commander(s) during high-severity events with detailed technical insights
- Lead or contribute to post-incident reviews and document lessons learned
- Monitor and analyze detection tools (EDR, SIEM, SOAR) and contribute to tuning and coverage improvements
- Participate in purple team exercises and attack simulations to improve IR readiness
- Ensure all incident response activities align with FedRAMP IL5 compliance and reporting standards
What you bring:
- 5–7+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on incident response and threat detection
- Demonstrated experience supporting incident response within FedRAMP, DoD CC SRG, or other IL5-classified environments
- Deep technical understanding of attack vectors, TTPs, and digital forensics
- Hands-on expertise with tools like CrowdStrike, Splunk, Wireshark, and memory or disk forensic platforms
- Experience in Windows, Linux, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., GCIH, GCFA, GNFA, OSCP, CISSP) strongly preferred
- Familiarity with scripting or automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) is a plus
- Clearance Preferred
