Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer/COMSEC Custodian to support a critical defense program at Hill AFB, Utah. The role focuses on securing confidential networks and ensuring availability of classified information systems while collaborating with mission stakeholders to engineer compliant secure architectures.

Responsibilities include administering enterprise routing and switching, managing firewalls and VPNs, and applying RMF/STIG controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years relevant work experience or a master’s degree with 7+ years relevant work experience.
• U.S. Citizenship with Active final Top Secret clearance required and DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA, CASP+, CISSP).
• Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale projects or programs, preferably defense/aerospace.
• Experience designing secure network architectures and applying DISA STIG compliance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve daily tickets via phone, email, and remote support.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and optimize enterprise-grade routing and switching platforms (Cisco IOS/NX‑OS, Juniper, Arista).
• Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, zero trust security and maintain Active Directory.
• Design, document, and maintain LAN/WAN architectures with redundancy, load balancing, and failover strategies.
• Interpret and apply RMF, ACAS, HBSS/Trellix, and IAVM bulletins.
• Automate network tasks through scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible) and perform root cause analysis.
