Job summary

The JAAW Group LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking a Network Engineer to support secure, mission-critical DoD networks at Hill Air Force Base. You will design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network environments to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing communications.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and cloud teams to support mission operations, enhance network performance, and ensure compliance with DoD security

Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance required prior to onboarding; Top Secret preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of professional network engineering or network administration experience.
  • Experience configuring and supporting enterprise networking equipment such as Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and network security principles.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network infrastructure issues.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance and availability while proactively identifying and resolving connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot network outages and perform root cause analysis to minimize downtime.
  • Implement and maintain network security controls, including ACLs, VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation.
  • Support network upgrades, hardware replacements, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with systems administrators, cloud engineers, and cybersecurity personnel to maintain secure and reliable network operations.
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor network capacity and recommend improvements to optimize performance and scalability.
  • Support compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity policies, STIGs, and security best practices.
  • Participate in on-call support and maintenance activities as required.

About the Role

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network environments to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing communications.   • Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification.
  • Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco Firepower firewalls.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure networking or AWS networking services.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Cisco DNA Center.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud or enterprise data center environments.
