Job summary

Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston seeks a Senior Accountant – SEC & Financial Reporting to maintain accurate reporting in line with SEC, FHFA, and OF guidance. The role offers a hybrid schedule in Boston with substantial time in office to support onboarding.

Base pay ranges from $80,500 to $132,250, with eligibility for annual incentives and robust rewards. The position requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting and CPA is strongly preferred, plus 2–3 years public accounting or 4–6 years corporate

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on data management and technology skills, including spreadsheet and database access tools.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work well independently and coordinate multiple tasks.
• CPA designation strongly preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist in preparation of the Bank’s earnings release.
• Prepare monthly Cash Flow Statement with supporting documentation.
• Coordinate review of draft SEC filings with Legal and other stakeholders.
• Maintain policies and procedures manuals for the reporting function.
• Manage comments/edits from reviewers of SEC filings.
• Assist in coordinating external audit review of financial statements.
• Evaluate peer company disclosures for best practices and improvements.
• Ensure internal controls are followed and suggest improvements.
• Support monthly/quarterly call reports and FHFA submissions.
• Provide back-up support for XBRL and 8-K filings as needed.
• Support AI usage in financial reporting processes.
• Participate in Combined Financial Report review and related subcommittees.
• Assist in process improvements for the financial reporting function.
• Contribute to special SEC/GAAP accounting projects as needed.
