Job summary

Firecrawl is building the infrastructure to turn the open web into data AI agents can use. We’re seeking a Search Engineer who will own crawling, indexing, and retrieval systems and push latency and cost down as usage grows.

You’ll work with the Head of Search, shipping services end-to-end in production while iterating on real data and metrics. 3+ years building backend or infra at scale is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production backend or infra systems.
• Experience operating backend or distributed systems at scale.
• Focus on latency, cost, and correctness.

Responsibilities

• Design and build crawling, indexing, and retrieval systems for Firecrawl Search.
• Push down latency and cost per query as search volume grows.
• Improve ranking quality and freshness for LLM-driven retrieval.
• Own services end to end — design, ship, monitor, and iterate in production.
• Collaborate with the Head of Search on roadmap and priorities.
