Job summary

Peraton seeks a Software Defined Network Engineer to lead design, deployment, and security enforcement for DoD networks at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. The role emphasizes secure enterprise network infrastructure, zero-trust, and NAC across multi-cloud environments.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity and systems teams to ensure STIG compliance, document architectures, and evaluate new technologies for enterprise deployment. TS/SCI clearance and CCNP are required.

Qualifications

• 12 years with HS degree; 10 years with AS/AA; 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA.
• DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 441 – Network Operations Specialist - Intermediate level or higher.
• DoD 8570 IAT II Certification AND CCNP
• DoW TS/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across globally distributed environments.
• Engineer and sustain network access control and endpoint compliance architectures with secure, policy-driven device authentication.
• Develop and integrate micro-segmentation and zero-trust workload protection in data centers and multi-cloud environments.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network issues from OSI Layer 2/3 to application-layer policies.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and systems teams to ensure DoD STIG compliance and secure data flows.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, data flow maps, and SOPs; evaluate new technologies and patches for deployment.
