Job summary

Akoya, a fintech-focused company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Test in Raleigh, NC. You will shape test automation strategy, mentor a small QA team, and partner with engineering and product to embed quality from the start.

You’ll write code, extend test infrastructure, and influence reliability and correctness at scale across our SaaS products. You’ll lead functional, integration, and load testing, leveraging Cypress, Postman, and modern CI/CD tooling to accelerate delivery, while driving

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software testing or quality engineering
• 2+ years in a technical lead or senior IC capacity
• Deep proficiency with Cypress, Node.js, Docker, Bitbucket Pipelines, Postman, WireMock, K8s, and AWS
• Experience with load/performance testing (k6, Gatling, or similar)
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, cloud environments, and shift-left testing principles
• Experience designing and scaling test infrastructure in agile, high-growth SaaS environments
• Ability to communicate quality risk to engineering, product, and leadership

Responsibilities

• Shift Left on Quality: define testability, acceptance criteria, and risk-based test strategies early
• Build and Maintain Test Automation: own frameworks, tooling, and CI integration
• Test Across the Spectrum: functional, integration, regression, and load/performance testing
• Innovate on Process: remove bottlenecks and scale QA practices
• Elevate the Team: mentor QA engineers and foster ownership culture
• Drive Metrics That Matter: track automation coverage, reliability, bug escape rates, and feedback speed
