Job summary

Spectro Cloud is seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Test to join our Engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain automated tests for our Palette platform, ensuring reliability across cloud-native, data center, and edge deployments.

You’ll build robust testing tools, implement scalable test infrastructure, and champion test-driven development. Proficiency with Kubernetes and CI/CD practices will be essential to drive quality at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software testing, QA, or automation-focused roles.
• Experience writing automated tests for APIs and/or UI applications.
• Proficiency in GoLang, Python, or similar languages.
• Comfortable on Linux-based systems.
• Familiarity with cloud tech, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of BDD and testing best practices; strong debugging skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and collaborate across teams.
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as Robot Framework, Ginkgo, Pytest, Cucumber, or similar is a plus.
• Understanding CI/CD pipelines and integration testing is beneficial.
• Kubernetes certification (CKA/CKAD) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated tests for the distributed platform’s core capabilities and features.
• Build test frameworks and infrastructure to validate platform functionality across environments.
• Write and maintain comprehensive test cases for new features and enhancements.
• Create automation tests for API and UI components with modern frameworks.
• Apply BDD to create readable test scenarios bridging tech and business needs.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and engineers to integrate testing early.
• Work with cloud technologies, containers, and Kubernetes to test platform behavior at scale.
• Improve testing processes and participate in strategy discussions.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in Linux-based environments to ensure stability.
• Write clean, maintainable test code that serves as documentation.
