Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test for Cambridge, MA. Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the United States.

The role focuses on building robust QA and automation for distributed systems, collaborating with developers and other QA teams, and contributing to comprehensive system test plans. You will develop automated tests, validate design requirements, and enhance testing methodologies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computing or related field with 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience building software test beds, unit tests, and automation infrastructures.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Perl, or JSON.
• Experience with SQL databases and NoSQL (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB).
• Experience with automation and CI/CD tools: Ansible, Jenkins, Jira, Chef, Git, GitLab.
• Familiarity with Django/Flask/Spring/Splunk.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA/testing to solve automation and verification problems in distributed systems.
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams on system-wide automation infrastructure.
• Contribute to system test plans for comprehensive coverage and automation.
• Develop and deploy automated system tests to reproduce real-world scenarios.
• Review design requirements to validate test plans and cases; improve testing methodologies.
